This is our take on the classic chambray "denim shirt", a long-standing favourite in menswear and a natural alternative to the Oxford shirt when dressing a little more casually. It works equally well with chinos or denim, and pairs naturally with a hopsack sports jacket or a heavier tweed jacket.

The fabric is a Japanese chambray, named for its rustic, vintage-inspired weave. Lightweight and breathable, its plain weave gives the cloth an airy quality while maintaining a crisp, structured appearance. The cotton and hemp construction creates a distinctive texture and subtle vintage character, while the durable handle softens and becomes increasingly comfortable with wear.

We had the fabric woven for us by Albini, the Italian family-owned textile mill founded in 1876 and still family-owned today.

The shirt is cut with a relaxed silhouette, allowing ease of movement while retaining a clean and refined shape. The button-down collar features a slightly longer point, creating a generous collar roll and the distinctive S-shaped line associated with a classic button-down.
