A New Gathering for Classic Menswear in Copenhagen
Copenhagen has no shortage of well-dressed people. What it has been missing, perhaps, is a table around which to gather them.
So, over a Negroni or two with Brothers Marfil, the idea was born to host an evening during Copenhagen Fashion Week – bringing together people from the world of classic menswear: makers, retailers, creatives, enthusiasts and the occasional person with a rather unhealthy interest in cloth, for an evening of good Italian food.

We began at A. D. Sartoria’s new store on Lille Strandstræde. The shop is currently rather dramatically concealed behind scaffolding while the facade gets some attention. It did, however, make a surprisingly good backdrop for an evening of cold Italian beer, steel pipes and familiar faces.

After a welcome from Alexander and André, we made our way to Trattoria Fiat for dinner.
Over plates of vitello tonnato, burrata, and pasta, conversation filled the room. Why are the Danes suddenly so fond of brown? Is there a better summer cloth than Solaro? And, perhaps the most important question of the evening, can you ever really have too many white shirts?
It was an evening about clothes, certainly, but also about the things that tend to surround them: food, craftsmanship, lifestyle, and the pleasure of sitting around a table with people sharing opinions.

And, as any respectable Italian dinner should, it ended with tiramisu and a glass of Marsala.
This was the first of what we hope will become many such evenings. Copenhagen has plenty of talent, curiosity and enthusiasm for classic menswear. We’d like to give it a place to meet.
To everyone who joined us, thank you, and a special thanks to David and André for the collaboration and for helping bring the evening together. We look forward to gathering around the table with you again soon.
